Bri Hamlyn (she/they) has been living in Austin, Texas for almost 9 years preceded by growing up in the Hill Country just north of San Antonio. She works with adults in the state of Texas and specializes in trauma with particular training for supporting those affected by intimate partner violence as well as those affected by the trauma of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. Additional areas of professional experience include chronic illness, depression, substance use, and the transition from higher levels of care to weekly individual therapy.
Bri has 5 years of counseling experience that includes community mental health, group and private practice, and residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care. She is trained in EMDR and uses parts work, attachment based, and strengths based approaches all through an anti-racist and otherwise anti-oppressive lens.
As an insulin dependent diabetic and neurodivergent individual, Bri is honored to connect with fellow members of the disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent communities.
Joy is a core value of Bri’s and she engages with that through the practice of karate, spending time with her partner and their pets, and playing with her niece.
