Yazmina supports adults of all ages on their journey of healing. She has been licensed as a clinical social worker (LCSW) for over six years and has worked in the field of social work for over sixteen years. She works with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, chronic medical conditions, and life transitions and is now accepting clients over the age of 18 to her practice. Yazmina uses an integrative and eclectic approach to suit the needs of each client, drawing from CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She is also trained in EMDR and cognitive processing therapy to treat trauma.
Her approach is strengths-based and person-centered and uses a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens. Yazmina describes her style as conversational, collaborative, and empowering. Her approach is affirming to all walks of life – including queer and gender diverse identities and neurodiverse identities. Yazmina believes that therapy helps people heal by providing a non-judgmental space where they explore themselves. In therapy, people can learn and practice new skills while strengthening their unique voice and enhancing their ability to enact change in their lives.
The eldest daughter, of immigrant parents, Yazmina is an avid consumer of fiction and poetry. She is a proud cat parent who loves going to hear local music and believes in supporting local artists. Passionate about social justice issues, Yazmina is a secular humanist who is respectful of other’s spirituality.
